- Start Mozilla Firefox.
- Go to the Mozilla Firefox web page for the "IE tab" add-on:
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419
Click the "Install Now for Windows" graphic link.
- In the "Add-ons" dialog box, Mozilla Firefox displays the "IE Tab" add-on version.
Click the "Restart Firefox" button.
Note: If you have multiple tabs open, you will have to close all the tabs to restart.
- After Mozilla Firefox loads, check that the "IE Tab" add-on is listed in the Mozilla Firefox Tools menu.
- To place the "IE Tab" add-on as an icon in a Mozilla Firefox toolbar, first right-click on a Mozilla Firefox toolbar to display the Toolbar menu.
Then, click "Customize..." from the Toolbar menu.
- Drag the "IE Tab" icon from the "Customize Toolbar" and drop it where you want it to reside on one of the Mozilla Firefox toolbars.
Note: Make sure you are dragging the "IE Tab" icon. There may be another icon similarily named ("IE View", for example is another add-on that operates differently. These instructions are not for "IE View").
- Mozilla Firefox is now capable to display any IE page within Mozilla Firefox's window. You will use this button when you go to the page that has the "Interactive Nkana-Kitwe" map.
But first, if you have not yet downloaded and installed the Autodesk® Design Review 2008 (ADR) plug-in, you need to do that next.
- Go to the Autodesk web site and download the Autodesk® Design Review 2008 (ADR) plug-in. Click on the following link to go to the download page:
Autodesk® Design Review 2008 (ADR) plug-in
You can also get there by going to the Autodesk home page (www.autodesk.com) and clicking on the Autodesk® Design Review 2008 download graphic in the lower-right of the page, or by typing "Design Review" in the Autodesk web page's "Search" button.
- Fill out and complete the required fields on the Autodesk page and click "Submit" to download the ADR plug-in.
The download time should take not more than a few minutes using a high-speed Internet connection. Download time might be much slower if you have a slow connection.
- When the Autodesk Design Review 2008 page displays, click the "Download now" button.
- When the "Opening SetupDesignReview.exe" dialog displays, click the "Save file" button.
The download time should take not more than a few minutes using a high-speed Internet connection. Download time might be much slower if you have a slow connection.
When the download is complete Mozilla may display a "Download complete" message near the lower right part of your screen.
- The "Downloads" dialog box should display, listing the current and some previous downloads you have made from this computer.
If you cannot see a "Downloads" dialog box, go to the Mozilla Firefox "Tools" menu and click "Downloads".
- In the "Downloads" dialog, click "Open" to open the SetupDesignReview.exe file that has just downloaded.
- In the "Open Executable File" dialog, click "OK".
- The InstallShield will begin unpacking and then the ADR installation will begin.
Complete the installation by clicking the appropriate buttons and making the choices as you normally do when installing software.
- When the installation is complete, you can confirm that the ADR plug-in is installed correctly by checking that it appears as the "Autodesk Design Review" menu item under "Autodesk" on your Windows Start menu.
- Exit Mozilla Firefox and then start it afresh and go to the maps page with the "Interactive Nkana-Kitwe Map" (www.claudius.com/nkana/nk_map.php).
The page should load, but instead of the map you should see a green plug-in icon in the centre of the page.
- Click the "IE Tab" icon on the toolbar (which you placed there earlier) to invoke the map to display via IE in the Mozilla Firefox browser window.
The map should load without any further input from you. This is how it will now always work. You will not have to do all these steps anymore. This is only a one-time set of procedures.
